Lock Down Ep2.

When she opened them she wasn’t alone.

Tali could smell and feel his breath, a hooded face with hollow eyes and pale complextion glared menacingly, just centimetres from her. She gasped and pushed back in her seat, she could smell and feel his breath, he’s broken toothed smile made her cringe. As Tali tried to call out a hand from behind her cupped her mouth tightly and hot breath breathed onto her ear “Don’t make this hard for yourself little one.” The voice was male, rasping and threatening. The hooded, broken toothed villain moved his eyes around her face deliberate and slow, down her neck to the scarf she had tied around it, tilting his head to one side, his eyes widened and took in every detail of the material as it cascaded down onto her chest. He watched as her chest rose and fell with the increasing fear. Tali had a surge of aggression and clawed frantically at the hand that tightly pinned he head to the back of the seat. She felt skin under her nails and the stickiness of freshly drawn blood, but it seemed in vain and only made the unseen adversary more delighted in their efforts to terrorise her. She heard him laugh and felt him tighten his grip on her. Angry and scared she attempted to lash out at the hooded villain, she caught him with force on the side of his face, scratching him with her ring. He responded just as slowly as his glare had been and without aggression, the only change was his eyes returned to hers and he squinted as his traced the trickle of blood from his wound and licked it from the end on his finger, showing her the length and point of his tongue as he did so.
“We are getting off this ride now and you are going to come with us.” The raspy voice came from behind her. “You make one sound and we will have more fun with you than we already plan to.” Tali’s heart beat fast and her mind tried to grapple with the thoughts that raced through her mind. She felt the coach slow and pull to a stop. The silent yob stood up and peeled his eyes away from his prey, obviously still distracted by his inner fantasies of having his way with her. He walked off to the front of the coach as the second guy from behind pulled Tali from her seat and thrust her forward, she felt a sharp object jab her side, and reluctantly she walked towards the front of the coach and out into the humid evening air where the first youth was waiting. The coach driver knew better than to make any notion he was aware of the altercation and the doors shut behind her and the coach pulled away.

LOCK DOWN

Dark. Always dark. Tali looked at her watch twenty past six, nothing odd about that, but it was twenty past six in the evening and it was mid June. Tali was old enough to remember the blue skies and BBQs she had shared in the back garden with her friends, that was before; before the war on terrorism started making people paranoid and living under the eye of big brother; before global warming made the pavements hot under foot and before the pollution was so thick that blue sunny skies were things of paintings and memories and that rain wasn’t something you protected your skin from. These were very dark and dangerous days indeed, noone lived without fear, noone lived with disease, noone etc those that inflicted it.

Tali could feel her eyes getting heavy as she starred at her face in the reflection of the window, watching the rain form running tears down her reflected features. It had been a long coach ride and all she wanted was to get to where she was going, to make it in one piece and before lock down. She had been alone on the coach for the best part of the journey, with just one or two people joining her for one or two stops before getting off again. The journey had been long, too long and while she was alone again on the bus she dared to let her eyes rest shut.

When she opened them she wasn’t alone.
